Years ago, a nice java applet that would show the relationships between things you found, click on a node and it re-searched and presented again. Very swish.
Doomed to repeat history, did not expect it to be so soon!
The flash animation is very interesting, it would seem that there are some areas where wind is 'generated' and some areas where the wind seems to go into a sink.
It would be interesting to overlay mountain ranges to see how this affects the wind pattern.
The long range forecasts are so vague as to be useless.
Slightly above average, slightly more rain than average. In the main, they don't even tell us what the average is and what the slightly value represents.
Is not the answer, its a cop out for coders not putting error handling code into their apps.
Users expect off and on behaviour as it became common practice thanks to windows, now its phones, TVs etc that all have this assumption that it can be fixed by this process. Bugs don't get caught, issues can never be resolved.
Additionally cars often keep their faults through the off and on process, there is no way to ask the computer to clear faults and try again unless you are a garage.
As Wifi and 3G get cheaper and faster, there is less need to have copies on our own systems, this will give power back to the studios as we will just be streaming content.
Harder to sample and mix music coming off a spotify stream
I got one of these and I am pretty happy with it, less than £350 for a 32GB model with 1GB RAM. They don't all come with this. Yes its not as sexy as a Galaxy but it does have the extra ports and micro SD card, certainly worth more than the 75% review score.
One thing to notice is that its not a HDMI connector its a micro HDMI connector.
Its a shame that google have not specified a common connector, that would be a big win, so I can buy a stand or whatever from anyone. Its also a shame that you cannot charge over the micro USB port as that would be one less cable to take on holiday.
Watching films/iplayer/catchup tv, on a tv that has hdmi but is not connected to a network video source, ps3/boxee etc.
Situations where this may be useful, bedroom may not have network source, popping to your grans and showing her that film you took while on holiday, or the holiday snaps
Streaming stuff from your PC that is in the study onto your living room tv
There are plenty of use cases for this, which is why a number of other manufacturers build this very useful feature into their tablets
Shame about the battery life, I was almost ready to buy! The addition of GPS is very useful, when I find a 7incher with better battery and GPS (and a reasonable price), the vendor will have a sale and no mistake.
You would be surprised at the number of films that do not turn a profit, this is to make sure the investors get their cash and the film stars (who have already been paid, and I think get repeatedly paid when the film is aired on TV) do not get their percentage points.
Especially as, for a change, the apple one is not the expensive one!
£750 for an LG Optimus, (3G+WiFi)!
Android tablets will not outsell Apple until they price them reasonably, on this score Amazon will probably win with their locked down tablets as they will be in the price range people want to pay, i.e. under £250.
Only a slight step up from the San Francisco then. Not being able to play flash is disappointing, I can play angry birds OK on my San Fran, cyanogenmod of course!
If you want this cheaper, then wait for the ZTE branded imports to start arriving, should be another month or so I would expect, when Orange most likely lose their exclusivity.

Looking at those pics...
It just goes to show that games have not really changed that much, just better graphics and sound!
Lets not forget Lords of Midnight, Attic Attack, and of course all the others that I have forgotten :(
The pricing is outrageous, especially as its essentially the same big companies operating in each country.
The flash animation is very interesting, it would seem that there are some areas where wind is 'generated' and some areas where the wind seems to go into a sink.

Who even knows what they mean
The long range forecasts are so vague as to be useless.

Weasels!
And you can pick the flyer up for £280 in some places
so my phone is IPTV
cos I watch youtube on it?
thought not.
Most of these are not IPTV
They do not have TV tuners (satellite or freeview). The need to be able to watch and/or record live TV as well as the extra IP bits
They are media players you can connect to your TV.
Otherwise I would be calling a Sony Blu Ray player that connects to iPlayer a IPTV device.
Well Tasker on android can do a bunch of the things that the author wants a smart phone to be able to do
To get your PC to screenlock, there is a Mac app that will do this, though no idea what it is, for Linux use blueproximity
recognised deity?
Not sure I would recognise Jesus if he passed me on the street
Nor any of the others for that matter.
I used to play PS2
When I was on my cross trainer, stopped the gym boredom kicking in
off and on again

Whiskies are different
American 1 distillation
Scotch 2 distillations
Irish 3 distillations
The more distillations, the smoother the drink. Also the process of malting is different, leading to either more or less smoky flavours.
Task for tonight, get bottles of Jack, Bells and Jameson and do a taste test.

Checked the source?
And built it yourself?
Or did you take a cyanogen build, and you trust that the cyanogen build is free from snooping software.
The source maybe open, but that does not mean that the available binaries match the available software.
DDG plugins for most browsers, and useful search shortcuts
At the very least its excellent for its search shortcuts, works from the address bar, or the search bar
!amuk shopping items

!wa forwards search to wolfram alpha

Over 40?
Easy to notice when your first job was back in 1980 something
price it like the apple equivilent
for a lesser bit of kit and it will not sell.
This has been proven by the many android tablets that no one wants at £500 but may pay £250 for.
Premium prices do not mean everyone wants one.
Price sensibly and a portion of the market will buy them.
all follow the link
well, like lemmings
Acer A500

just got a technika 23.4"
from tecso. full hd display. usb recording. dvd built in. no hd freview though.
picture quality it is quite reasonable, 2 usb inputs and pc input too.
in in all pretty reasonable for £160.
They are
In the US at least. I expect they will in the UK when they may the Kindle Fire available over here.
And why wouldn't it
People often forget to clean up their devices when passing them on, certainly a charity shop would not do this for them.
Often its difficult to remove accounts, especially when they are tied to a specific services.
The amazon link has it
If you are looking for a 1GB model.

strange
that they are only rogue and accused of bad practice when they lose the bank money
You might not like it
But why not teach them Javascript with HTML/CSS
This means that they do not have to learn any of the clunky 'windows' GUI concepts.
They can just focus on logic and printing things to the 'screen'. They can then make things funky with HTML/CSS.
They don't need any clever environment, no need for a server to run it on, just code single pages.
Bonus is that most computers come with a browser and a basic editor, so the cost of entry is zero.
Standard practice
You would be surprised at the number of films that do not turn a profit, this is to make sure the investors get their cash and the film stars (who have already been paid, and I think get repeatedly paid when the film is aired on TV) do not get their percentage points.
Ah the folly
Of giving the developers a fast machine, they will code against that and the apps will be rubbish on less powerful hardware.
Or is it that the OS needs such powerful hardware just to get started?

Maybe its not the super hub
I had a standard blue cable modem and that used to drop out once a day, the new superhub does just the same thing.
The only benefit with the new kit is that I could through away an old belkin wifi router that had been doing dns/dhcp etc
Maybe I should get a plug in timer and auto reboot it at 4am
