I wish the gov would stop trying to save us from ourselves. the internet as i see it is one of the few places where i can go and express my feelings or read interesting things... when i was younger i read the anachists cookbook... i never used the knowledge for evil (though one day....) i was just a kid interested in the science of stuff that go boom...now they'd lock me away and say i'm a terrorist.
there are bad people in the world and they can get access to dangerous information... but stopping the information won't stop them. it'll just stop the inquisitive minds and it'll lead down the route for a dystopia...
people still get shot in the uk...hey isn't there laws against guns these days...there sure is jimmy but it doesnt stop it
I have been pretty dissapointed with the look of the guns so far...just dont look the part...i dont want a fragile looking peice of white platic for a gun...these are the best ive seen yet but i still think i'll go and do what one japanese bloke did and make my own (his looks like http://www.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fblog.livedoor.jp%2Ffumi23okmr%2F&langpair=ja%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF8 - google translate of a japanese blog) just looking for the right toy gun to base it on...and waiting for a decent arcade shooter
@ Arnold L - please post on here if you do recieve the screwdriver :-)
I agree with Scott on this if Theo shows a proof of concept or 2 it'll pretty much p*** on Intel's parade and then they might go and fix the issue... if he (or someone else) doesn't prove the point then it certainly suggests a bit of stirring up some FUD. i don't really know what outcome to root for though :-s
I thought this was already a definate - i could have sworn it was explained that ZFS is the underlying tech behind time machine when it was first demo'd.
also Webster - I bet you are a typical Mac user that just doesn't maintain his system - when is the last time you ran a permissions and disk verify/repair - go into applications-utilities-disk utility and give them a click - it'll probably help
Well it's a nice idea - 'getting the people to help' but then you realise they are stealing your idea and giving you a poxy £1000... I have some useful ideas including some that would provide revenue from advertisement and subscription - if i as allowed to keep ownership or take a percentage or even be contracted to create/maintain then you could have my entries.
As I see it making some great system for public use in a citywide wlan means a lot of money from ads etc...£20,000 I might consider for possibly a very lucrative market, but £1000 P*** off
Ah well at least now i have another bunch of ideas on my "project list of ideas that i will probably never have time to do and someone else will"...maybe one day *sigh*
