I couldn't agree more. I want my children to learn to stand on their own two feet before they are adults and head of into the big bad world (although I'm sure the People's Republic of NewLab will have it all controlled for them by then).
So given that -
a) I don't want it or need it
b) It is a security/data risk
how do I opt out? I don't want anyone who can guess my mothers maiden name and who know's when my birthday is to be tiptoeing through my children's school records. Not to mention the fun had by the kids hacking each others accounts
"Ha ha, Johnnie has to visit the nurse every thursday to have his piles scraped'
I don't care what side of the fence you sit on with regards to file sharing, any moral high ground is lost when the fringes of the law are used as a bullying tactic. Either take them to court or shut up. I'm not a lawyer (not full time anyway) but it seems to me the only reason to state you are working under civil law is because it would be illegal to threaten someone for money under criminal law. After all, would that not constitute blackmail (give me £500 or I'll tell the cops)?
Since Scotland is a net exporter of electricity (to Engerland and Northern Ireland, 2% of Scottish exports) I think you'd be worried about cutting us off from the National Grid. After all, how would you power your pomposity generators?

Tumbleweed
Its quiet round here. Presumably everyone went to the pub at lunchtime and forgot to come back.
Better late than never
But the big question is, can it record whilst playing a game?

The moral high ground...

Be all you can be
To paraphrase Karen Dunbar -
"Windows LIve - Its the Best We Can Do"
Sums it up for me
Pirate facts
Here let me fix that error for you -
"..and reel in the pirates that ALLEGEDLY cost the industry billions of dollars in lost sales every year."
Job requirement?
Suddenly the Home Office makes a lot more sense. Perhaps scans of MPs are now in order? All that Houses of Parliament booze has to go somewhere.
Consistency
Gambling - bad
Oppression of the chinese people - good
I guess none of it is strictly evil, so that's a consolation.
