Re: How would you save mankind.

figgus your missing the point. the reason this halfwit believes taxing the rich would work is that i believe most of the sprog popping co2 expelers, are only in that situation due to poverty. And by poverty i mean lack of education, jobs, hope, and any sense of self worth. taxing the rich works by giving these people proper lives. give a man a fish.......

but do you really think its ok that major companies get away with not paying tax? llok at Vodafone. or that American presidential candidate (romney?) who mentioned he only pays something silly like 13% tax on the billions he has. im not talking about 100k earning bmw drivers. im talking about the rich.

Re: Sky

The sky and mad men thing is a prime example of why the media corps dont care about trying to have new business models to "compete" with torrents. They dont care if anyone actually watches, they just want to make sure someone pays.

Mike Brown

but o they have the smarts for that?

they have just bought instagram for 1bn

so do the baord of FB atually have the compentacy to expand and grow fb into something worth anything?

either way, im planning on starting numerous web services and touting myself to the board. i may get lucky and get a slice of that lovely ipo money!

Re: How would you save mankind.

easy peasy:

nuclear. biuld lots of reactors. solves energy issues overnight. and gives cheap, safe energy to all.

with regards food? stop any and all trade restrictions with 3rd world countries. whats the point growing crops if they cant sell them, and its cheaper (due to western subsidies) to buy in food?

and also a massive redistrobtion of wealth. downwards. amke the rich pay more tax. make companies pay tax. use this money to fund the above 2 plans.

and bosh. world fixed. no caves needed.

Mike Brown

Ive got no problems with the WWF and the conclusions of this report......

.....provided they go 1st.

Mike Brown

why the hate?

I really dont understand the hate about Sony. Other companies have done much worse to there customers and not felt this sort of ire.

All i can think of is the rootkit debacle, and the linux removal from the ps3. And those 2 things are really not that bad.

Sony make great products. The ps3 is a marvel. There a/v equipment is spectacular. They contunually innovate new products (some fail, but hey, thats innovation for you) So why the hate?

FAIL

thats not what this article is about

the article dosent mention sueing people, or legal threats or anything that the el reg is mentioning. Its actually a warning not to pay for access to the proxies that have sprung up in the pirate bays semi absence.

poor show reg.

Mike Brown

Vaz? Again?

He keeps trying to do this. He tried to get Manhunt banned, when it was incriminated in a murder investigation. Unfortuanatly it was the victum that had a copy, and not the murderer.

Mans a fool.

Plus he keeps getting caught in "conflict of intrest" issues. So he is incompetant and corrupt as well.

Re: The best advertising...

yes, but their products are expensive and shite.

Give me a Henry any day of the week.

terryifing. doctors are paid mega bucks to know this sort of stuff. they arnt paid mega bucks to check a 3rd party app. i could do that.

Mike Brown

Re: this is simple to fix

well yes. but which politicion is ever going to burn there Party and carear to try and save the country?

Our economy is a consumer based one. Without consumers spending the economy cant recover, id go so far as without consumers spending we have "no" economy. Companies then cant hire people, and have to cut jobs, which dents the buying power even more. Its a vicous circle.

But giving the consumer more money fixes this cycle. Giving this money to the banks is pointless, as they hold on to it, and the compnaies dont see it, and neither do the consumers. But giving it to the consumer, even if they just pay off thier credit card, will eventually trickle into the banks.

So i stand by my comment. I realise its only papering over the cracks, but at this point in time, its all we can do. And it fixes the problem we currantly have.

Mike Brown
Happy

this is simple to fix

tax breaks. for £25000 per year and under.

This would stimulate the economy by giving everyone (that needs it) extra money in their pocket.

how do the govt pay or it? easy: QE.

instead of giving the extra "money" to the banks, give it to us. then we will spend it, and the companies will higher more staff, and then everyone pays more tax (vat and PAYE), which then pays for the tax breaks. and so on and so forth.

and bosh! Country fixed.

Re: I wonder...

I dont think you understand how microsoft work. They buy things they want.

Mike Brown

Re: How much?

indeed. i just bought one. At £72 it seems to be a steal. Googles nexus slab will have to be mighty cheap to beat it.

Mike Brown

Elop. And his masters. There is no way he would allow Nokia to release an Android Lumia. Then everyone would see how good it could be, and winpho 7 would be even deader.

Young Jesus; Bethlehem 90210

Justin Beiber playing Jesus during his formative teens. We get to witness his school days, and the highjinks he and his chums get up to, (aptly acted by the TOWIE and The Hills cast). We also get a glimpse into the troubled angst that only the son of god can experiance, the issues that not having a a dad around can cause, and the loves and conquests of our lord and savoiur. The film ends with the Bethlehem High Prom, where our hero pops his cherry with Mary Magdelaine (played by Milly Cyrus), and manages to teach the local "Jockjews" a lesson they will never forget.

Young Jesus: Bethlehem 90210 coming soon to a cinema near you!

Re: Once upon a time

I understand your concerns and the human impact. But I do think the Fins have to take responsibility. From what your saying have based thier entire countries economy on the fortunes of one company. This is a truly stupid act. Its not Nokias or Microsofts fault that Finland is now having financial woes. Its Finlands governtment for reliaing on Nokia to prop up its country. Tech moves so fast that yesterdays success is tommorrows faluire, and those that run the country should have been aware this could happen.

Re: "Phone-hacking" please, not phone-hacking

or about the correct and snappy: "it has been reported that News Corp, which owns News International, is facing three charges of accessing peoples voicemail"

Mike Brown

Re: "Phone-hacking" please, not phone-hacking

agreed. guessing that someone hadnt changed their defualt pin for thier voicemail is not hacking.

They used to be.

wow. how on earth did a bug like this get missed? nokia is finished.

Re: Those stats sum up how shuttles never lived up to the sales pitch

Exploration of space is dangerous? Really? Well fuck me with a bargepole and call me lucy! Of course it fucking is. Exploring any new frontier is dangerous. Its part and parcel of the job. If we gave up any new endevours becuase they were scary, the Americas would still be uncolonised and we would all be sitting in caves, eating berries and leaves.

Mike Brown

time to learn a new language?

As a soon to be multi-million pound android app developer, i think its time i started to learn chinese. then i can be a multi-billion pound android developer. Oh, after i learn java...

Mike Brown

Re: either they're faked or they aren't

wait and see. if this case gets settled out of court for a redonkulus amount then we know who was lying. There is no way zuck will give him 50% of facebook.

im surprised this is still going on. and that surprise fills me with suspicion....

Mike Brown

genuis

this is really clever on googles part. they get the general public to fill in the blanks on streetview. how ever came up with this idea needs a haerty slap on the back.

Mike Brown

Re: this is fairly easy to fight

well yeah. thats the real issue involved with patents huh? its not the idea that people can fight, or can use them to "extort" money, its the fact that even if you are in the right you may not have enough money to fight your corner.

what is needed is a seperate legal system for patents. one that is free, and is unbiased towrad those with money. Like an obudsman.

Mike Brown

this is fairly easy to fight

"Prentke says a dynamic keyboard of symbols"

the ipad dosent have a keyboard. just because it has a screen that can display a picture of a keyboard dosent mean its a keyboard. their patent is for a physical board with keys. Not this. If i was the app maker, id tell this company to STFU.

Re: Bar room lawyers assemble!

I think youll find that the amount of damage, and the cost of incidents caused by cyclists is so tiny that setting up a reg scheme to police it would be a massive waste of money.

besides its easy to track a cyclist that has been in an accident: they are the bloody scrap mark on the road. just rifle thro thier pockets and find some ID.

Mike Brown

Re: Sometimes the hard times make you strong,..

"why has the position become vacant" and "what is the average length of service of the team members".

great questions. i shall remember those

Mike Brown

Re: Bar room lawyers assemble!

so your saying that those that have mots and licences and reg plates are all perfect drivers? hmmm

Mike Brown

Re: Ok, we can work out how they know it's Apollo 11 later.

its a tax loop hole. if they send dvds from there they pay less VAT

Mike Brown

Re: Retaliation?

if he really wants to kill the murdoch empire it would be fairly easy:

regulate what football can be shown on the telly. Ensure that Sky cant have a monopoly on the footy, and people will leave Sky. This has the added benefit of making "call me dave" look like a champion of the comman man, as he opens up football to the FTA channels.

might take longer than 3 years. but the only thing keeping Sky going is football. always has been, always will be.

Re: No More Privacy

"it cant be rolled back"

yes it can. put the mouse down, step away from the keyboard.

do something, and dont tweet about it.

Its very easy to roll back, and eventually people will.

Mike Brown

fire?

why no fire? id buy one in a heartbeat.

Mike Brown

Re: Innovation

he is kind of right about this. The move controller was conceptualised back in 2003 or 04 it was dropped tho, as sony didnt think it would sell.....

Mike Brown

this wont work for nintendo

and the reason is the success of the Wii:

Everyone that bought a wii and now have it sat gathering dust wont buy a Wii U. For that very reason, why buy the upgraded version when the original got 2 weeks worth of play then dumped?

Thye played the movement trump card, and it worked wonders for grandparents and kiddies, but i dont think they have naythng left to attract that demographic now.

Re: In the UK the new iPad won't have 4G

ah, thanks for the correction.

Mike Brown

but can i play.....

sensible soccer, or cannon fodder on it?

Mike Brown

In the UK the new iPad won't have 4G

As far as im aware the americans dont either. they have what is effectivly 3G+

Re: It didn't take a rocket scientist

@ ShelLuser. have you played the fighting bit of sport champions? with swords and shields? amazing, and the reason why a lightsabre game would work wonders on Move. All i could think of while playing, is how good a star wars game would be.

The controller is ideal for simulating a lightsabre. the ball on the end could even change colour depending on the colour of the blade. and the 1-2-1 movemtn means that wherever you swing the controller the blade goes. it even does depth well

My ideal game would basically be dark forces 2, possibly in 3rd person, so you can actually see yourself, but using the move controllers and better graphics. The controllers would even work for force powers. Press triangle, aim at the rebel scum and hoist them into the air by thier neck!

Damn George Lucas, and his need for cash, and damn micrsoft for buying titles. A lightsabre game would rock on Move but it will probably never happen.

Mike Brown

Re: It didn't take a rocket scientist

but at least if this was a move game, it would work proparly.

Lightsabre fights on the move would be immense. and since you have access to a diretional controller too, there would be no need for "on the rails" controls.

Re: That picture is not a squid...

thats pic freaks me out slightly. bleurgh

your right. damn that thing called physics!

why blank the eyes?
