Re: mmm

I preordered in 2009 from play and got it for 24.99 which is being honoured, feeling a bit smug.

Clearly there needs to be a mass pardon

Anyone convicted of homosexuality should receive an appology from the UK government, this particular offense is clearly now viewed by the majority as absurd and unfair. Given more liberal times it would be better if the government admitted that the british establishment had this plain wrong and issued a blanket pardon for these "offences".

Yes it may be a big ask but it's the right thing to do

DRM

The fact is that DRM is an issue but we should be able to register and deregister our devices, we have bought content, and a dvd or bluray plays on every format that has one of those drives. We should NOT be made to lock our copies to say ITUNES or WINDOWS or PS3.

I should be able to register my devices and play all content on all, maybe not at the same time, I'd not mind paying a LITTLE extra for multiple play capability (playing 1 movie on 2 different devices at the same time), but the current trend of saying ITUNES or WINDOWS means that people will avoid online digital stuff and just continue to torrent and newsgroup everything.

Common its not hard, let us play the film on any device and stop milking us for everything, there are more revenue streams you are missing

Price

Someone said €35 euros for a blu ray thats just not true, not anymore but perhaps people just don't know, at its most expensive online it is now only €20.

Digital copy online for something I have bought is something I WANT as a consumer, I want to be able to buy my discs, register them then put them in the attic. The end game for me is no disks and everything streaming, but until the entire market has the broadband I have I am willing to accept that's a way off

Clarification

You can undertake if you are in slow moving traffic, or that the lanes have been separated such that they are leading to different roads, at this point each lane is considered a seperate road in its own right.

Protect inventors not large multinationals

Patents were never designed to protect large corporations they were designed to protect the inventor so that they could leverage their designs without large corporations muscling in, the spirit of patents especially in the software arena is subject to widespread abuse and has been for quite a few years.

I do not accept that apple needs protecting the same as a small startup company and I also despise the way in which all other software/hardware vendors patent some of the most trivial stuff to simply at a later date go after competition in an underhand and dastardly way, this time its going to backfire on apple, perhaps they may learn a lesson if a patent claim doesn't go their way in korea, a massive market for mobile telecommunications.

faster doesn't neccessarily mean os speed

It can mean productivity... runing windows 7 on the same hardware as xp is pointless, as clearly xp will always win, doesn't mean things are faster.

A Couple of reasons actually...

As a business it is indeed important not to waste money in areas that could be better spent affecting your bottom line, however to ignore advances in product version indefinately is foolish. Sooner or later you will come accross some add on or product which does office integration and you will not be able to use it and it WILL be beneficial to you.

At that point you will need to upgrade machines, os, producitivity software in one big hit, seems expensive to me.

Holmes.. because its not always obvious what the answer is but you'll figure it out in the end .

Annoyed but hanging on in there

Well I'm one of mozys customers too, and I love the service. however like most I was extremely displeased with the new pricing strategy and it came about just before I selected a renewal plan so affects me immediately.

I have 169 gig backed up with them which is mostly photos and digital footage from my camcorder, and my ripped cd collection (lossless), whilst It could be argued my music collection can be recreated it is not feasible for me to rip that lot again (over 2000 cd's) The problem here is the limit is simply set way too low, 300 - 500 gig would have been better, the current limit is clearly designed to catch maximum amount of serious users to monatise the service better, that is EMC's choice but most people will not wear this price hike.

the same storage for me trebled in price over night and that is quite frankly disgusting, mozy still do not support backing up from a network share with mozy home which is an equal glaring omission.

I've stayed for now primarily because my personal circumstances at the moment mean I have no time or inclination to look for an alternative but i WILL leave mozy next year, its now too expensive, I wouldn't mind paying but only for a reasonable limit, 20 gig chuncks is a joke, I can generate that in an hour with a HD camcorder,.

Keyboard pointless

I don't see the use of a keyboard (hardware) since I installed swype on my full sized X10 I never looked back the fact is I can enter test super fast with this app and accurately, much faster than I could with a hardware keyboard (which is just another thing to go wrong).

The size on the otherhand is great, exactly the sort of thing that my wife complains about with the full size X10 (even though its roughly the same size as her iphone).

I don't see the point of these phones other than size.

Never did see why they sold like that

I was shocked that google decided to sell the phone direct it was the exact reason I could not buy it. I get all my handsets through my provider, orange, I do this because that is the norm in this country and I had always assumed it was everywhere else.

Seems it is in the states too I didn't buy a nexus one because I was unable to and it was too expensive without the subsidy from a contract.
