"And The Rich People In Dirt Poor Countries

..will buy iPhones as feverishly as the buy BMWs and Mercedess."

assuming you mean Mercedes then if you ever bought one of those over priced pieces of crap then you'd know you were talking utter BOLLOCKS

go ahead & buy a western badged, over priced piece of crap made in cheap labour countries (to the major detriment of workers there) but please don't fool yourself about the quality eh?

wish I had a £1 (or €1.20) for every iPhone user I had heard screaming at their phone for being unable to pick up a call / hold onto a call

TBH if my Nokia 6210 had BT (for hands free car use) it would never have left my side, I have a basic BB now and does all I need - BT connection / battery life / address push / basic calendar functions, just a shame it doesn't go all week without charging

"it's only a phone love"

would you take advice?

from someone who clearly can't write grammatically correct English?

Maverick

it's time then

. . . . to "adjust" the historical measurements down (again) to make it look like we had even worse warming last year

well it fooled people last time & some idiot got a Nobel prize, so why not again?

Maverick

not Notes?

of course not, because then security wouldn't be an item for discussion

@ Timjl

mate

I enjoy many of your posts but the reality here is that on line ordering in the UK means you get only the oldest fresh stuff about to blow its sell by date

I got loads of 'free delivery' vouchers some years ago (my town was a 'test' location) - gave to my wife with our small baby but she got sick of the crap they delivered to us and got in her car to get better stuff

(FYI I got lots of vouchers as *I* wasn't using them - great IT system eh?)

PS now we use a great farm shop even closer, shame our supermarkets in the UK are so useless

Meh

if you've ever been there

you'd know it's full of w*nkers - especially the taxi drivers

twunts

since the Sony root kit incident I have never bought a piece of anything from Sony

and my first Sony kit was bought in 1973 and much more since, so until recently I have been a loyal customer - way to go Sony!

@Tigra 07

so be part of the solution - sign up and help educate then

there are people who spend some of their own time talking to and educating various groups (really, there are, I know some of these people)

or if you feel so strongly about this subject you could get into hurting these low life ***** back, 419eater.com is a good place to start and to get help to learn how to do this effectively but ethically

but please leave your attitude at the door eh?

perhaps you should wander over to http://www.scamwarners.com/ and read a while, these victims deserve your knowledgeable support not your derision

they awarded one to Al Gore (OK, jointly with IPCC) - so this is meaningless POS organisation

seriously definitely a case of YMMV as this version is much more stable for me

or even better?

. . . don't use PayPal at all

quite a few companies have lost my business because of switching to PP, they probably don't care because their costs are lower (and sales as well obviously, but no bean counter measures that)

and yes my bank is just as bad at not following their own advice about links <sigh>

and just what %

of these 'safety cameras' are there outside schools?

I'd guess it won't make much change when rounding to nearest 1/10th of a percent *

* a motoring organisation I was a member of a few years ago did this survey - we found 3 over several weeks of searching that were outside schools, dunno what the present figure will be though in the reported 3500 fixed cameras we now have - not many more I suspect

horrible

new layout? not sure yet, but had to reduce font several steps to make it usable on my laptop

but "My News & Weather Location" functionality is totally f^H^H^H^H^Hbroken;

- doesn't recognise post codes now

- insists on some random nearby town not my selected town

- can't customise for local news / sport etc as before

- why am I forced to display news stories from Northern Ireland, Wales and (god forbid) Scotland rather than where I live? (Yorkshire)

bookmark removed, bye bye BBC

arse he maybe, Apple is a totally scummy (sp?) company, but a genius he defo is & would I work for him, hmm not likely . . would I enjoy his company over dinner? of course I would !

and I've said before on here - he is still a human being and I wish him good health, really I do

but I will NEVER buy an Apple product and I hate with vengeance that utter cr*p that is iTunes - please don't tell me that Apple know how to write software, OK?

I am

we just spent a week at Le Mans and the CRS are much nicer & certainly more controlled - really!

there again they are properly trained

yes the CRS armed and have a fearsome reputation from times past but in our experience they do focus on bad stuff (and I do mean FOCUS) and really turn a big blind eye to all sorts of silly behaviour by race fans many of whom (you may find this hard to believe) have had a few too many beers

the petty attitude of the Met is at the other end of the scale, glad I don't live down south !

Maverick

I think you'll find they do go in florists

pretty hopeless site to be honest

zip code approximation? since I live in the UK that's approximate in the sense of the correct flippin' hemisphere ?

as I run NoScript I had to allow it to run in the first place, & then it could only locate sites that I trust (e.g. Reg) and then only the top page

it couldn't even list my bank (a very big one) and I visit that pretty much every day

this site is a waste of electricity

Maverick
Megaphone

well said sir!

as a dedicated 100% non-PB user all of this is noise in the system, I'd simply say let's face the REAL basic truth here . . . (these are UK scenarios, OK?)

CD revenue has tanked because ;

1) the supermarkets have driven the retail price down from £16 - £18 per unit to £7 - £9 each

2) the labels went to sleep & let Apple steal their revenue stream

DVD revenue has tanked because;

3) retail price point is no longer >£25 each (see #1 above idiots)

4) rentals are cheap, real cheap (BTW are you awake yet Sky? no?? thought not!)

simple basic economics, ignore the market trends and your balls get crushed

but at the end of the day they must be immensely profitable to waste millions on lawyers, so do I worry about the poor darlings? nah

do buy their 'products'? nup"

am I interested in their latest 'pop sensation'? PMSL not really

that having been said - please keep going PB, I do need something to watch with my beer & popcorn and you provide GREAT soap opera :)

Maverick

please don't

I just had to go for rest in a darkened room after that

this tells you all you need to know

. . . about why we need a new government - though it's looking increasingly likely that we will get the same bunch of megalomaniacs back

oh very business savy

> and businesses still can't guarantee all their business critical applications will run perfectly in Windows 7 due to the large changes in technology between the two versions

that will be a business with out any sort of BC or DR plan then?

those sort of f**k wit run businesses deserve to fail

(and that's not just the small / medium sized ones either, just ones without any kind of effective audit oversight board = so most banks then!)

Maverick
WTF?

The title is required, and must contain letters and/or digits = nonsense

> DOS based accounts system than 2K did.

Jesus mate, sounds like you're letting the bloody bean counters decide IT strategy, get another job quick would be my advice !

I say this as a qualified accountant (originally)

PS i think Win7 rocks, just wait until you try XP on new HW where the XP drivers are written by the new PFY - let's check back then as to how you think that is still a good idea ;)

Maverick

a better way

I am afraid that you sir are assuming these 'lads' can read

at Le Mans 24 Hour race we hand these types over to the CRS,

now they DO know how to deal with them
