Also it's been a long time since a PC was just Microsoft and Intel or that it was important to have either. My graphics card cost more and has far greater impact than my OS and Processor combined.
Feel free to compare like for like such as iOS vs Windows vs Android/Chrome vs Linux or x86 vs x64 vs ARM or maybe Intel vs AMD vs the myriad of ARM producers.
The problem I have with Apple is all the others you can mix and match (yes even Windows (7/8) on ARM and Android on x86 coming soon!). Buy from Jobs and you will be stuck under his thumb. His hardware, his software and anything more innervation than an app is unwelcome.
But I already have it on my android phone, I thought the tablets were using the same OS with a bigger screen? Surely there is no need for a separate version.

As long as the android stance of all aps are equal holds true there is very little an anti virus can do to protect its self let alone the users data. Some common sense about what you programs you allow on your device and what rights they are asking for is the best defence.
The Internet seems to think the average weight of a pepper is between 100g and 200g so lets say 150g at 79p or about 1.9g per pence * 200p = 379.75g added. If I'm wrong all letters of complaint should be addressed to my GCSE maths teacher.
Of course the next question is how much do they weigh over all. I'm led to believe methods that don't involve sharp knives requires the body part in question to be submerged in water and the answer comes from weighing the displaced water.

Firewalls fair no better as the internet permission is an all or nothing afair.
At least my Milestone 1 has got the 2.1 update but some are saying 2.2 wont appear until next year! (It came out in July) Conveniently AFTER the Milestone 2 will have been released.
There is actually a drive by browser attack you can perform on 2.1 that is fixed in 2.2 so it's more than just holding features back.
I wont be getting a Milestone 2 any more if this is what we can expect from Motorola (It does look nice though)
Now if only someone would make a Phone 7 with slide out keyboard... at least MS know how to do regular updates!

This should continue to be a core subject ever child needs to learn. English will still cover the reading, speaking, listening etc. that is does now.
A GCSE in 'IT' should be a specialist subject available as an option it will briefly touch on areas such as:
Basic Programming concepts using C
PC Components and tech support
Networking Technologies
Information Security
The idea is not to teach them anything particularly useful but it should be enough inspire those few who are capable of taking it further (Just like all GCSE's). Not everyone will want to do it and in the end most people are crap at very technical stuff, this will never change.
I do feel it is important to teach if only as an awareness thing, it wasn't until a few years ago I discovered Information Security was a real topic you could just ask to study. I do wonder how the last 10 years would gone had I known then what I know now. (No one thought to tell the kid who spent lunch times hacking the school computers you are allowed to do that sort of thing for a living.)
Proper IT needs a damn good teacher to do it, the sort of personalities that do very well in IT can detect a fraud a mile away and it's very hard to teach if your class has no respect for you. I dropped out of A-Level computing because the teacher was an idiot in my eyes and this put me off the subject. After 5 years of wilderness I got back into Education and did BSc Computer Science & IT then an MSc in Information Security and had a lot of fun doing it.
There is some science, women are better at perceiving red than men because the code for 'can see red' is in the X chromosome. This means 99% of women get a double dose of red (also means it's rare for a female to be colour blind) the rest of the population have to get by with one or less shots of red. Same reason most women really can spot the difference between white and er.. white.
If he has a good lawyer he could equally argue that the best buy tech's had ample time with the machine to put the pictures on and falsify logs. It's very hard to provide an uncorrupted chain of evidence with PC's.
Lawyer: So how did you discover the pictures were on the laptop?
Tech: I turned it on.
Lawyer: No more questions your honour.
Expert witness: The boot process has altered the contents of the hard disk.
Lawyer: The evidence has been tampered with, I move that exhibit A is inadmissible.
The judge will most likely not be failure with how computers work but he will know how evidence works and have to drop it.

So before it was kidnap/imprisonment of your boss and demand money, now they are threatening to blow something up and demanding money..? Best case you could call it extortion but we have labeled people terrorists for less.
So when do we go back to the tradition of war with France? The travel costs for our armed forces will be less than they are now!
I could understand it if hard disks where expensive but they are not.
A hard disk is one of the least expensive bits you could remove. Cost of internet will have to be reduced and quality increased before this is useful and people running BT have made it very clear that isn't going to happen any time soon so it's a no go for the UK.
And when all is said and done, MS do make good (enough) products and past experiences makes me sceptical of a fully java OS.
Is this really so surprising? To be honest this is what a lot of women want from a Netbook. I also don't see this as any different to marketing PC products with a busty woman, fast car or footballer.
The dell site is still there with its nice business like gender neutral front for those who don't view computers as only a social networking tool in a variety of colours but this della crap isn't far off what I see when walking down Guildford high-street or on the front cover of a women's mag.
I do wish most women didn't respond to this stuff and thought playing games and stripping down a PC was a fun night in but that is unfortunately a rare case.

There is much more to hardcore than just needing to eat and sleep, for a start you wont be able to just charge into a room full of bad guys and just chug stim packs to stay alive.
To me compared to the last one it feels like a more balanced game, crafting is actually useful, perks, skills and stats are much rarer (so far) so decisions like armour and gun type matter more. The tweaks to the interface also make it a lot cleared what each item does. This is a much better game than Fallout 3, I don't care about the 2008 graphics.
