firstly that they had 1tb drives in the clinton years. and 2ndly that they still don't have cctv or encryption to catch whoever did it. *sigh* I don't think ANY government anywhere in the world has caught up with the basics of security in the modern age.
this is trademe, not ebay. you can (and everyone does) save password automaticly, so you dont need to login each time. and the article on stuff.co.nz says it was already on trademe.
the military can't be that desperate for cash. All you need is one bloke with a hammer, and all your problems disappear. That's what we do at our accounting firm, with out old drives.
In the end it will just be like kazaa or napster. there is always another waiting to take its place
What really gets me though is the way they measure copyright infringement. I mean if its free your going to download FAR more than if you have to pay for something. therefore, its stupid measuring the downloads etc and saying "we have list this much", because most of the people downloading wouldn't have bought it if it cost actual money.
Perhaps facebook students are doing harder subjects. Its easier to get an A in media studies than in law..
Perhaps this shows that people on face book take harder subjects at uni, not that they are stupid. When i was finishing uni last year the amount of people who used computers regularly, and therefore networking sites was much higher in law and commerce subjects than in arts, which are far easier.
by the fact that Lithium batteries are in such short supply that it would cost an unreasonable amount if they wanted to start adding them to cars on a large scale. They also degrade over time so don't expect that range to last more than 3 or so months.
AND there's also the little detail that when you do run out of fuel its not just 30 seconds to recharge.
Replacing batteries doesn't seem like the answer either as you still have the same battery degrade problem, if a battery capacity is reduced say 20%, which happens very quickly do you get a 20% reduction in your erm..... battery... bill?
There would also be the problem of cheap Asian batteries people would doubtlessly start buying as replacements :-). Would be interesting to see one explode at a charging station.
that emergency services at least your have some form of backup such as a satellite uplink... not that their would me much to do if no one could call 911
Wont be much use for gaming then will it. Thought it looked good till you hear "windows 7/Vista".. won't me any system resources left over for MS word let alone trying to play call of duty

mil wars ftw
Looks like they're coming down hard on those MILFS
I still love my microsoft 6000 mouse.
Light, plenty of features and high quality laser.
eh..
I find it's always to buy whatever is 2nd best as the cost/value is usually far more acceptable than buying the best
fkn lost the plot
why 1000000 versions of windows? home, and pro. why do they need more? it just pisses off their customers
would be good if you could just subscribe through it
One less box to fit under the tv
Camilla Smythe FTW
You got it in one.
Pity they the Red won't ban AC's IP address.
ITS A CULT
Pointless
Really, with the high latency I don't see how a speed upgrade will make any significant difference to the average user.
hrm
In a way I think that they should protect their users better. There's lots of fake Sony crap, make-up, etc etc, on ebay that shouldn't be there.
It's sometimes hard to tell if its real or not unless you're comparing it against the real thing.
Though I guess that's the price you pay for paying peanuts.
riight
If it has to be put in one of the states poorest counties surely they would have trouble finding skilled labour?
Does it really matter where they put it? Jobs are jobs
*clap clap*
What's the bet the sister won't be on their Christmas card list eh ;-)
laughable

good on them
Yet another reason not to be with westpac. They are in china now apparantly, still with 6 of the $10m. Wish them well lol
remember people..
this is trademe, not ebay. you can (and everyone does) save password automaticly, so you dont need to login each time. and the article on stuff.co.nz says it was already on trademe.
wow
Thats got to be one of the first touch screen devices I actually want
Nice one sony
f#cking morons
you can't tell me they were surprised at Mr Ramseys language? If you don't like swearing then don't watch the show. People really need to get a life
give him a cheer
hopefully the judge just gives him 1 day in prison or something
easy way round this
Make the protective gear an option...
Or make them pay for the cost
Why?

Telecom are hardly ones to talk
They run their business using underhand tactics.
The average employee also has an IQ equal to that of a brain-damaged ape.
nearly ok
apart from the huge lack of a 3.5mm, and the fact its touch screen i might actually buy it. It looks nice
Google banned then?
Stupid stupid policy made as usual by people who haven't yet learned how to put the paper in the fax machine, let alone learning about the interweb.
lol...
Reminds me when at school they said that "downloading" was banned.. erhm :) wtf is the point of the internet if your cant download data?
Safe thing with "filesharing"
Anyway, good luck with this. Just make sure your download servers aren't located in the USA and what can they do if your software doesn't conform?
sage..
sage line 50 is a headache
Completely Useless
Having lived on the west coast, new zealand I had to put up with satellite broadband for a while. Latency was 1+ seconds....
it was faster to use a 56k for most things.
Do the morons who push this tech even know what its like to use it?
Even 3G is faster
why dont they just make a XP V2.0
it would be better...
At the moment the selling point is "buy your new product, its exactly the same as the old one"
wtf
Why is it not mandatory to encrypt sensitive documents. its not rocket science
hope they get a retrial
but i think the end of this case is inevitable
this assumes
that adverts at any point in time have ever told the truth? Its not like ebay is a one off case. why pick on them?
re: Bernie
Who wouldn't want a nuclear device on their wrist!
I want one
so much
Meh
In the end it will just be like kazaa or napster. there is always another waiting to take its place

.
@ lee
That assumes that you would buy the material if you didn't download it :-)
which is most cases wouldn't happen..
Plus alot of it is TV anyway that people just want to watch in their own time etc, but is paid for by broadcasting fee anyway.
google next?
what a can of worms
well 40mbit is a supercar...
If he's from NZ. I live in Wellington the capital city, 7.5 mins from the CBD and I'm on the fastest connection available to me..
Its less than 2mbit.....
consider yourselves lucky!
*clap clap*
So..
1 - you sack the people that design your phones..
2 - Quality of phones suffers as a result
3 - *shock* people buy less of your phones, market share falls..
4 - Repeat steps 1 to 3 again and again and again...
@ goat
That's why Ubisoft is FTW. buggy games, but they're sure different
wtf
So none of the power comes from green sources such as nuclear power or hydro plants or wind power?
I think for the average modern dual/quad core PC the amount of processing power is negligible, especially since many people use laptops these days.
Plus, how much CPU does a spam filter use?
This sounds as believable as the "apple tax"
subjects?

still crippled

you would think..
that emergency services at least your have some form of backup such as a satellite uplink... not that their would me much to do if no one could call 911
it will take off
just like video calling did.... or not
woops
And their shuffle come to that
apple on the way down..
There's no where for them but down now, and their new nano looks like the first step backward for them... It's shit..
useless
If they don't give you away to disable the most annoying sound of them all. that f**kn start-up sound.
*free support*
eh.. its just some Indian reading directly off the Microsoft KB anyway.. hardly helpful.
Looks good
Might upgrade to that one later this year then :-)
Telstra...
Nearly as bad as telecom NZ
No CD drive?
Wont be much use for gaming then will it. Thought it looked good till you hear "windows 7/Vista".. won't me any system resources left over for MS word let alone trying to play call of duty
wow...
Some bright sparks working there.. How could age make any difference. Geez
