@The crew is apparently "not as motivated" as the original LulzSec, according to Rachwald, adding that it has made little or no contribution to IRC chats and hacker forums.
So in otherwords they are making an attempt not to get caught, unlike the other fools? Stay low, do your business, get out safely.

Like the top 3 comments, I baulked at this. This is not aimed at small businesses at all, small businesses use £450 laptops. This is aimed at people with wads of cash.
Do you think Becks n Posh are there all the time because they have a social media team? :X
The pair of them can hardly string two words together without sounding like mongs (thanks Gervais), even logging in to arsebook/twunker/G+ would probably cause their brain cells to explode, never mind actually using them.
Not really a new craze, does any one else remember doing this at school? We used to do it in teh boys toilets, either mild strangulation or by standing upright against the bog wall and have a fellow school chum press heavily against your chest until one felt giddy.
One day they will both be dead and written into history. A Hollywood movie made, several books and yet more movies.
I thought this story was about Bill not going back to MS? Seems to have degenerated into the Bill n Steve saga.
If we are to have a movie, can we have one with them smoking a bong together then several scenes later fighting over the aesthetics of different types of coffee? :-) (fair trade of course)
1. If I am up in court what right has some halfwit journo got to be sending 140 chars about my case proceedings to whomever they wish? It's bad enough that it gets reported in nasty tabloids the day after, never mind live fucking coverage in txt spk.
2. If I am a Judge in a busy court room, proceeding over an important case, why would I want half baked requests from members of the public, or anyone else for that matter to send 140 char messages to all n sundry? Taking up valuable court time and interfering with matters in hand...
I don't know all the details of the case but with no malicious damage/intent other than access, and from the sounds of it fairly intelligent hacking as opposed to brute force/ddos/script kiddie nonsense, then a little community service and a warning of jail time in Wandsworth should suffice I hope.
So we have a ship in international waters, housing geeks. They can travel to and from the ship, essentially commuting each day for leisure purposes to LA (no worky, tourist visas remember). On the ship we will have some dudes working on spurious tech projects.
Can we have nekid girls, pizza and pepsi with that please? :D Sounds lush and I'm in. :-)
We are talking about external chargers not mains chargers, the type that hold batteries in and are rechargeable and heavy. They are good for charging phones, cameras, ipads etc with many other uses too of course and different ones for different specifications.
Very useful but they add weight that is not needed if you are weight conscious. With the iPhone there is little choice, with an Android (all models as far as I know) there is choice.
There is nothing inconvenient about swapping a battery. Hold on a sec.

Carrying a large external charger about with you however is extremely inconvenient when compared with carrying an additional streamlined battery.
I just came back from hiking 92 miles, I brought along an additional PHAT battery which weighed a few ounces. Far preferable to carrying a large heavy external charger.
I'll stick with my Nexus One purely for those reasons ta :-)
I have a Dell Streak and love it :-) Others I know (all of two people) with one love it too. Games and movies were a dream whilst browsing net etc a pure joy compared with smaller screens whilst still sitting comfortably in my pocket unlike something the size of an iPad.
For these reasons I think there is a market, I'm annoyed that Dell decided to abandon the Streak which will put me off all other Dell products in the future but should Samsung market theirs well then hopefully it should be a decent success. Definitely room in the market for these babies and a big F*ck you to Dell from me for taking £500 from me for a product they were not going to support for much longer than the year I had it.....
Still live but for how much longer. A Catch 22 this one. Rat em out and get ddosed and hacked out of business or defy the court order and have all your servers lifted, court appearances and hefty fines.
The police have to start from scratch where as the "hackers" already know each other, which circles they run in and where to gain said logs from. They are also snitching on each other.
Ten years is, ten years. A decade. A vely vely long time. In that time Apple will have gone through a crisis, recovered or not, made some mistakes, messed up, etc... Prolly even been hit by a virus or two :-)
The likelihood of them becoming some industry leader in the games market, a market they are vely vely new in, is. Unlikely.
Of course you would think like that, and no doubt every speeding motorist (by law of averages you too most likely) should be banged up for attempted murder.
The fact is it was a stupid juvenile prank and he is a young guy. A big chunk out of his life.
Seriously, the app market is a great feature but if they do not revamp it then we are just being swamped by all the trash apps out there. It is beyond frustrating looking through the android marketplace for decent apps, yes you can find them but sheesh, you would think Google could design some decent search and sort features as they are supposedly experts on this kind of thing.
In its current form I hate it. Gingerbread update might come with some new and improved marketplace features but I doubt it.
Sounds fair enough to me. If I was US based I would of course happily use a proxy, installed on a third party computer without their knowledge, to access said blocked sites.
Now now, no complaints about me hacking someones server to install redirect code onto it please. If you are OK with me using torrentz to steal shit, then you are OK with hacking surely? Oh, what's that you say ell reg commentards? Hacking is bad and I should be strung up as it causes all you sysadmins amongst you lots of extra work? Poor souls, but it's OK for you to then download shit for free that you should be paying for right?
I don't really give a fuck if they block, stop, prosecute. I just give a fuck about all you morons going on about it and using censorship issues as your main defence when actually you just want shit for free cause' you're used to it.
It's a denial of service attack not some malicious server + format + must destroy hack. When the flood stops or at least subsides, and from what I gather it was fairly weak, then service resumes as normal, all be it a reboot may be necessary. Worst case scenario is that they get charged for the additional bandwidth the flood generated.
So he injects some Guinness into some kind of dough tube, seals it up and deep fries it. Better hope it don't burst or there is going to be a bit of a Guinness explosion going on as the liquid hits the hot oil.
If the students has not given permission then surely installing spyware on the computers they are using (assuming they did not have to agree to small print T&C before using them) counts as unauthorised access. It could also be argued that their privacy was compromised and that the computers had been impaired by the installation of software unknown to the recipient. As well as the security of the computers being impaired due to th software which was installed on them being remotely accessed.
Dono what the data protection laws are like there but here I would suggest that this contravenes them also as private data is being taken from a computer without the computer owners knowledge.
The transfers of these files will have used up bandwidth, there is impairment for you. Modifications to cpu load and ram will have occurred, again impairment.
It's pretty stinky this and even stinkier that nothing was done about it after the event. As usual, 1 rule for the establishment and another for the rest of us. Hope the civil suit goes a little better.

I'm getting them to multiple email addresses and to the tune of a dozen per day. First they were one liners with really bad grammar but they been getting sneakier as the week goes on. Here is one that I thought pretty good.
Hey guys
Already mentioned this to some of you and sorry about the mass email but thought I could be missing out on a good opportunity if I didn’t…
So… I’m looking for geeks all over USA. They need to be highly intelligent and shy/nervous around girls etc
All the contestants genuinely had an amazing time last year and are actively recommending it to their mates this year. They get the chance to teach hot girls a thing or two, and get the chance to win $100,000! So far – I haven’t spoken to a single geek who’s been offended that I’ve called them one. But if you’d rather – please do pass on their details to me and I’ll get in touch with them anonymously.
I’ve attached flyers in case you want to forward on, or put up in your office…
Seems to me that the general opinion in this country (and others) is that if you do something wrong then jail is the place for you. We are in 2010 now not 1810 and I like to think that we are a little more sophisticated than "stick him in the slammer".
The fact is no one was hurt by his actions yet he gets to spend 9 months (ok half that) behind lock and key, costing the taxpayer money and probably ruining his life to a certain extent. Punishment needs to fit the crime and in this case no one was hurt, no losses made, no damage etc so wtf is the point in sending him to jail? I'm not saying don;t punish him, just that there are better options available.
I read this a few days ago and thought it was a bit on the harsh side. I'm fairly sure a good dose of community service and a suspended sentence would have worked just as well, especially seeing as they dangled the carrots with a view to this scenario happening.
It's a bit like looking through someone's diary and flicking through to the section named "PRIVATE DO NOT READ". You know you should not do it but the temptation is there and it seems harmless at the time.
I'm not saying he should have been accessing bank accounts or looking at saucy bikini pics but at the end of the day all he did was look, 9 months seems a bit harsh for that.
Excellent gadget for all the fatties! Weight watchers should incorporate it into their diet plans so they can keep tabs on all the rolly pollys chomping on mars bars when they supposed to be eating wabbit fewd.
So if one man drives his car and 100 miles an hour in a 40 zone we should ban all drivers from our roads?
Seriously?
So long as bikes, motorised bikes, skateboards and the like are used responsibly then there is no reason for them not to be on the footpaths or anywhere else for that matter (ok so not on motorways) but just because some old codger in your town drives like a lunatic does not mean that everyone should shoulder the responsibility of his dangerous driving. Get real dude ;-)
Chris Cardell is a royal tit. I get his marketing guru style nonsense and have only NOT unsubscribed as it is at least of vague interest to see what kind of nonsense these scammers get up too. Business Guru? Charlatan more like...

Ell Reg Ddos's again?
I think they should have bought better hosting. Either that or The Reg needs to start contributing to bandwidth bills for sites they publicise ;-)
