I for one would like to see more modern books being converted into movies - not too sure what the current obsession of converting 60s scifi into movies is.
Dark Night Trilogy or Mindstar Trilogy (would be cheaper to make) by Robert F Hamilton is pretty good.
Greg Bear has done a few good books that would do brilliant film conversions: Anvil of Stars, Eon, Moving Mars...

The Acer Revo is whisper quiet (too quiet... the only way I can tell it is on is by its LED). The ION GPU spits at 720p and 1080p H264 videos. XBMC runs flawlessly on it allowing me to watch all manner of video formats and containers... this includes SSA/ASS subtitled anime in all their 720p glory.
Yes, includes HDMI (and VGA out), four USB ports and a couple of eSTATA connectors.... all for about 179 inclusive VAT (obviously for the non Windows version).
I don't like the layout.. feels weird having the links on the left and the search results shifted to the right... my old codger eyes now overshoot the the left as soon as I hit the Search button (via the Enter key)
I do, however, like the Timeline view... Wonder wheel? Meh...

I received a refund for Vista + MS Works = £120. I sent them a nice letter with a lovely coloyr A4 (glossy) printed photo of me clicking the "reject license" option and another photo with the laptop running Kubuntu 3.5.
Shortly after that incident (don't think it was related), Dell started offering preloaded Ubuntu XPS 1330 laptops.... but with inferior specs: the Vista version would have much high hardware specs than the Ubuntu lappy for the same price. The reasoning was that my example would no longer be refunded as a non-windows option was available.
Sadly, AFAIK, this is no longer the case and Dell (AFAIK) is back to Windows only oferrings (at least on the home/soho offerings).

This very much reminds me of mod trackers from the late 80s for all of us who broke our cherries on Amigas and the much derided STs (yes I had one).
