Not a fan

A few years ago a collegue had a problem with his wrist so the company bought him one of these in a lovely shade on beige. I had a go and found it a bit too weird - I don't know if I'm using a mouse like a knacker but the mouse pointer moved slightly up as well as I moved the mouse to the left. Also you had to hold it in one position where as I use my mouse in whatever position I grab it (no pun intended).

@Tom

Course not, damn thing is 500 notes. Who in their right mind would pay that for a netbook?

review?

Do a few stock photos and some comments on the specs count as a review these?

Fake

You'd cut yourself with that and if it is real where do you plug the battery in?

News or advertising?

How much did Aldi pay for this article?

Adam

Non user replacable consumable?

If the user can no longer replace the battery then surely this should be covered by the warranty on the machine and not just the 6-12 month battery warranty that OEMs give you as a token gesture.

Can the battery still be classed as a consumable?

Does an extended warranty now cover the battery as well?

Discounts

Do you reckon I could get a discount for being called Adam?

4 foot drop

I dropped a normal Dell D531 about 4 foot and that was fine. It might be seriously overpriced but it's a mans laptop and I want one.

Adam

What about the renoir?

Sounds like a renoir with a higher dpi screen and more memory.

EEE PC woman

Is the purpose of this article just an opportunity to show us the eee pc woman again?

Pointless

What are the point of these things. What's wrong with just a laptrap that you can pick up in pound shops? As for my laptop at work on the desk all the time, I just use an external keyboard, mouse and monitor. These things seem like a waste of money to me.

Does it

Float?

Cool

I want one for my boat, oh and I want a boat as well.

Wait, bugger it, it runs Windows so it will be rubbish. I'll just have the boat then.

iphones

Does every new touchscreen phone have to be compared to the iphone? I'm getting a bit sick of it and think they should be judged on their own merits. Anyway, IMHO the Touch HD beats the iphone an should the new yardstick if you insist on using one.

Eugh

Unfold, refold and drink 'till she's pretty.

Might be green, might catch fire, but without an apple logo I can't see it catching on.

Yeah right

I have a feeling improving specs and Windows 7 will void these predictions. Can't see linux catching on either.

Paris Hilton

Why?

If you can't keep your phone charged then what makes the manufacturer think the users would keep this charged?

Paris because she probably gets someone else to charge her phone to prevent the needs for such fasion disasters.

Adam

@Christopher

That would be the OQO then.

Probably a bit more than you want to pay but I want the moon on a stick for £12.99.

Why bother?

I'm not sure I see the point of this. You're going to need a full size screen anyway. Why not cut out the computer part and just use of of those little USB screens like that one from D-Link.

Really?

viewing angles of 178 degrees both horizontally and vertically - surley that hood will get in the way a bit???

It's a myth

Handheld detectors are the clipboards the "enquiry officers" carry and the detector vans are the minibuses they are carried round in. That's what I reckon anyway.

I don't have a TV so I don't have a licence and I keep getting these "enquiry officers" knocking on my door. The licence is enforced like a protection racket; don't pay for one and you get threatening letters and people knocking on the door.

Adam

I haven't got a licence either.

Got sick of the rubbish on TV so got rid of it. Not for the first time. The licence fee is more like protection money, stop paying they come after you.

Adam

it's not the speed

its the crappy little screens on mobiles. I, like probably a lot of other people, will quite happily wait until I get home to use a computer with a proper screen to access the internet.

iBooks

It's only a matter of time before apple cotton on to this and corner the maket with books available to download via itunes.
