I think with regards to targeting, audiable cues might be there in some rare circumstances. As for braille, that would take thicker paper the the graphene-thin thermal stuff that it seems to be using, plus much more power to physically form the dots. I remember years ago seeing on TV a bloke who had devised a way to print braille on a bog standard dot matrix. It involved a soft backing sheet, decent gsm paper, and 6x passes of the print head.
Still I suppose every cool tech starts out crap. And many stay that way. *coughC5cough*
I had the classic 3210 for years. From time to time when the screen became illegible from dust... Took front and back covers off, blew/wiped masses of dust off the business bit, washed other bits and dried under the hand drier, put back together, sorted!
It was a mosh pit at the Brixton Academy that finally put it on its death bed and even then it clung on slowly losing functions for a week or so. In the final hours just defaulting to a simple tone and unable to display the caller, just "call". Freeky!
Nokia actually released an entry level candybar with a screen with a semi reflective coating I recall. That's right they took a shiny screen, and made it extra extra shiny! What in the name of Lucifer's Rusty Shitting Sherrif's Badge were they thinking?!?!
... to read all, but it is just a tradition in china to burn paper replicas of stuff. It does NOT signify hatred. It is just sending stuff to the spirit world and done in good spirit. Personally I'm not a believer in any faith but that's beside the point. If people of faith want to have their ceremonies, go ahead :)
It was playing up for me on Feb 25th as well as for a friend accross the pond. Some bollocks about failing to post stuff or register likes. I didnt bother investigating.
I had a joint on me about 6 or 7 years ago. I'm reliably informed I'm "morally reprehensible" (or words to that effect) and the visa waiver test quis says I'd have to have my case evaluated by the Reic^H^H^H^HHomeland Security. So yeah thats it USA hopes buggered. Because it's not like people can get over the USA/Canada border piece of piss with the help of an American or Canadian friend or relative!
Which brings me on to my question: Are Canada under orders from the yank gubmint to act equally mentally unsound with regards to immigration policy, or are the Canadian government still somewhat representative of the nice Canadian people?
Penguin: Yeah yeah I know, but there isn't a polar bear icon is there?
"And, yes, Garriott's Lunokhod 2 is still on the moon" Hope he's declared it off the road to the DVLA!
I look forward to this film, though I hope I'll be rewarded with more than just novelty value. Needless to say I have not and will not watch the leaked copy. If you can even call it a copy.
Dear oh dear. It was just a simple technical observation. I was fully aware of the point of the "blackout", I just did not discuss it in my post. Because it was just a simple technical observation.
I was a little tempted to make the climb to smartarsephone, with the GPS being especially handy, but I think I'll just stick to sniffing out a decent 85phone with better battery life and a two figure price tag. Suggestions welcome :)
Being a fairly directional 2.1 system will make it shine in certain setups and uses, but a bit naff in others, as the review noted. I guess it was never meant to be all things to all people. I am left wondering how a 7.1 setup would work for a well positioned 2 or 3 seater sofa, not that I'll ever spend that much on a speaker set.
My own setup is a shoestring job geared towards films, drum 'n' bass/breakbeat and a bit of gaming. Nice one for taking time to reply!
I had to crack my legit F.E.A.R just to run the bloody thing, after it smeared SecuROM shite all over the walls of my digital home. I cracked my Quake 2 just so I could play CDs of my choice. I was looking forward to Bioshock until they lost a sale to me *because* of DRM.
Now I avoid DRM like the plague, though I don't mind Steam as that seems more civilised and doesn't involve arsing about with original media.
In this "harsh economic climate" / "global economic clusterfuxplosion", whilst your average dedicated pirate would be pirating all the latest videogame shiny come economic rain or shine, whats the point if you're too sodding broke to afford the hardware to run them at the shiny shiny settings? Might as well direct the bandwidth so your preferred mp3/movie/gentleman's interest trackers.
Just my 2 pennies.
As for me I'm not even gonna give the spec of my rig, lest you suffer a laughter induced hernia. Suffice to say I run a handfull of very cheaply legally aquired borderline retro titles. Serious Sam, UT2004, F.E.A.R. and the like.
I wonder if there's any places left in the CIA black-ops prisons in the middle east now that the yanks are pulling out...? Eye for an eye and all that, plus they probly pretty willing to sing, cos we already know they're scum and they know that too, unlike a fighter doing it for the love of his country and/or god, misguided though he may be.
Assuming internet data leaks out to space via sattelite links and whatnot... What's the odds that in 1200 year's we'll pick up a "Piss off puny earthlings!" transmission?

Good points mate.

No pics please, we believe you it happened!
Prince of Playmobil, anyone?
Really looking forward to this with interest. I'm not saying I'll agree with everything, but this is definitely an intriguing development.
Well done Julian!

Mustard
It is said that the mustard maker makes his money not from the mustard used but from the blobs left on the sides of plates.
Playmobil Prversion please!
My guess would be a saving of transport costs to the USA and Canada vs shipping from China.
I just went ouside, looked up
West London.
Eff all but an unusually bright orangey star by the moon. (10pm)
Just my two pennies.
Re: So for all you guys out there...
Not all of us, but I'm sure certain fellas would, and good for them :)
No effin idea about women's opinions.
@GitMeMyShootinIrons: re: *vigorous* scrutiny
I'm sure the ASA are already hard on to that!

Re-read last paragraph.

@ Tom35
Agreed, if there were no content providers, they wouldn't sell a bugger's worth of bandwidth.
Most people suspected or believed this stuff was going on.
Suspecting < Believing < Knowing.
With the release of hard evidence, we now know. With specific details to boot.
Agreed!
Is there any function too simple to patent?
How 'bout somebody patent a fucking power switch?
Could be worse still.
You could be _making_ their trendy apples and lappys!
Iran used to be a secular democracy.
But then the UK and USA stepped in.
Rob Newman's "A History Of Oil in the 20th Century" comes highly reccomended.
Android?
Cyborg surely?
Another Big Cheese gets a clue. Let's hope a trend develops.
I'm reminded of this article by the makers of Ink, my favourite fim:

Many thanks AC!
I wasn't interested in that end of Canada anyway.
We're not the pot and we're not the kettle.
We''re the 51st state.
What about Canada?

I'm guessing the girls are using SheWees.*

Didn't really go dark, just had a black sheet thrown over it. Disabling javascript put everything back to normal.

They were a proliffic provider of free coffee cup coasters up to about a decade ago.
So facecrack, MS Live, etc.... AREN'T logging everything centrally?
Fair play mate

There goes that lovely "new electronics" aroma... :(
Like many of you
I just died a little inside.
To fill space I'll willy wave about my own budget 2.1 bi-amp system:
Source: SoundBlaster Xfi (soon to be updated to an semi-pro external job) with subwoofer output split at ~200hz.
Mids/Highs: Mission MX1s, Cambridge Audio Symphony 400 cable, Cambridge Audio AM1 Amp, shielded Belkin cable from the sound card.
Bass and sub-bass: Self-built 2 x 300mm Extended Bass Shelf (large Ported) enclosure on a Sherwood amp.
Dreamy sound, fairly low price, roughly £300 all in but I already had the two 300mm woofers kicking around.
Good point

And the chopper guys where are they now? Just wondering.
"Operation Nickthekiddyfiddlers" Might have given the game away somewhat, had word got out.
Steady on there mate, remember Operation Ore?

EPIC WIN
Hope it continues.

PacMan
Nice theme for a rave, methinks.

20 GOTO 10 shurely?
Slap a semicolon on the end of line 10 for a bit of style.
