Great news for undertakers

This is great news for undertakers.

Cyclists and other road users who will now be put at even greater risk by the sort of idiots that buy cars like this and then drive round with music playing so loud they are completely distracted from the road and other road users.

Maybe Renault think that the russian roulette of car drivers still routinely using hand held phones isn't enough to contend with - I've been knocked off my bike 3 times in the last two years on each occassion by drivers that were distracted (two counts of mobile phone usage and one count of school run mum too busy assing to her daughter to actually bother looking before turning across a junction.)

re:what to do with the proceeds

What you do with the thousands of PAYG credit is:

1. Sell it via low cost overseas call booths - the high street outfits where people cram into tiny booths and pay cash to make calls at low cost

2. Use the several thousand free sim cards that the network gives out, top each one up with £30 and sell it for £10 with no questions asked. Repeat several hundred times and you've successfully laundered the proceeds of the test purchases.

a couple of points

The article fails to mention two key things in relation to Three's network:

1. They are merging their 3G network assets with T-Mobiles to form a stonkingly large 3G network via Mobile Broadband Ltd (a Joint Venture co).

2. Three have a roaming agreement with Orange that allows 3's customers to use Orange's 3G/2G services at no extra cost in areas where there is no 3 coverage. In practice this means that it's difficult to find anywhere where there's no coverage.

Thumb Up

much improved

I tried Three years ago and their network was terrible. I recently got a Three PAYG USB modem and have been pretty impressed with their coverage and the speed I get on the network. Better still, in the very few places where there's no Three coverage it roams onto Orange's 3G network - all for a tenner a month.

Compared to my o2 iPhone that seems to not work in a surprising number of places where Three / Orange have coverage, I'd say that Three have quietly built out a stonking network - in fact I'm even thinking about taking a proper contract for their mobile data service.

Credit where credit's due - Three seem to have sorted out their network problems.

ironic

HMRC loses data and everyone worries that someone will buy it.

Meanwhile a bank in Lichtenstein loses data, and everyone's happy that HMRC bought it.

It's not just the bollocks..

a search for 'crap products' returns 6 results; 3 of which are listed under "customer service".
