As an avid reader of both El Reg and Drudge, congratulations on getting a story linked from Drudge!!! IT angle? Uh.....how much did your bandwidth usage go up after the link was posted? :D
For those of us stateside I would like to point out that I took a behind the scenes your of Fermilab in Batavia, IL yesterday and it was absolutely incredible!!! From the coax cables they used when wiring the place that they got with one end melted off from nuclear testing (if its free, who cares if you have to reterminate one end right?) to the amazing equipment to the openness of the place (you can go pretty much any place that doesn't require special training to access) it is an engineering marvel to behold that will be shutting down in September. Check their website for tour details. Thanks to Todd who showed me around yesterday!!
Wish someone would have alerted me of this. I would have done an interview or obstructed the search or something. 8.6 miles away from where I am writing this comment.
I attended MATC - in Milwaukee, not Madison, AND I used Ubuntu, with great success I might add. Ubuntu even has this great note taking program built in.
However, I was taking CCNA classes not their Microsoft Office class which I called "Intro to turning your computer on" because it was so ridiculously simple. I was able to access the web wirelessly and wired while in class so there is no problem at all accessing the internet. Some people are just a waste of a good computer.
The Christmas lights also banned? Last I checked they are still mostly incandescent. Way to ruin Christmas guys!
On another note, I guess I better start stocking up on good ole GE 100 Watt bulbs too because my eyes are VERY sensitive to shitty fluorescent lighting, ESPECIALLY the low power variant.
What a shame. So many comments but only one mention of Paris. Surely we can do better!
OSHA (the US occupational health and safety administration) would love his Lockout-Tagout procedures. So much for fully deenergizing the machine before servicing it.
Oh well, back in my screw-machine days (not what you think, look it up *snicker*) we had to reach in running machines all the time to ensure the oil coolant was hitting the cutting tools properly.
The thing that the environmentelists choose to ignore is that electric and hydrogen powered cars may not themselves pollute, but the electricity and hydrogen production process pollutes.
As we all know, to make electricity, you have to burn coal or natural gas or have a "dangerous" nuke power plant. All of which are hated by the non-pollution crowd.
Anyone know of any way to make hydrogen that doesnt use electricity?
Bottom line: electric and hydrogen powered cars still pollute

Q: Why would the States be interested in our drivers ?
A: I , a native of the States, am particularly interested in 4 of your drivers. 1) Clarkson, 2) Hamster 3) Capt. Slow and 4) The Stig
And for the the love all that is holy: DO NOT MAKE AN AMERICAN VERSION OF TOP GEAR!!!
Hmmm...no car icon here so we give The Stig a go sign.
