anyway as I said before, it may not be exciting but companies don't make money on hardware units shipped (they're just a useful metric for increading the important number) but on number of games shipped over the lifetime of the hardware and if you compare say ps2, ps3, psp in japan (about 80 games a a month) to Nintendo GC, Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii (about 15 games a month.) You can tell who makes the most money in the long run.
You can wager the Japanese market will be well stocked with ps2 games for the next few years.
