Hey!
I got the blank screen too! I was using a cheap hdmi cable I bought at the time from Argos.
As a last resort before getting an exchange I used the hdmi cable that I use with virgin media hd box and it worked perfectly!!
Perhaps it needs a specific cable specification or something?
