Asus has officially taken the lid off its latest Eee PC netbook, the 1005PX.

Of course... laptop screens never used to glare thanks to the diffusion layer. Until it became fashionable to dispense of them and have those ultra sharp, vivid screens (Yes, I know there's more to Black Oynx/X-brite/X-Black than just removing the diffusion layer).
The reason the diffusion layer was there was to stop glare, so it's no surprised that it's returned in some form now that the novelty of vivid screens has worn off and people are fed up of staring into mirrors.
I think the next stage, in about 10 years from now, will be people getting fed up of touchscreens because of the greasy finger marks, smears of other people's old food over communal screens in offices, and the fact they have to move their hand so far from the keyboard to press buttons and drag & drop things, especially girlies with long finger nails, that there'll be a boom in touchpads and mice!
