Unless there's a limited portfolio of parts which are comparable and clearly identifiable as to what each is capable of there's always going to be some confusion.
Mine's the one with the microcontroller catalogue which shows thousands of parts each with different capabilities and inconsistent numbering on someone has scrawled, "you're in a maze of tiny, twisty passages".
