Come on guys, speak to RISC OS Ltd (http://www.riscos.com) and get the original ARM based operating system up and running on this product. The specs sound like it is something RISC OS was be fantastic on!
It's ain't getting into netbooks with old ARM9 or ARM11 level cores, unless they've worked out how to clock them over 1GHz (45/55/65nm?). SoCs using Cortex A8s and soon A9s will be the ones to look out for.
The PATA will be for all those device manufacturers who have bulk bought PATA drives to stick in DVR boxes etc. For instance my fairly new BT Vision box has a PATA hard drive (although I guess it was designed a while ago, no doubt the replacement will have SATA).
Still looks interesting, especially coupled with as Paul mentions, Risc OS or some sort of Linux (maybe Ubuntu or Debian?).
