Nvidia introduces 'G92'

Nvidia has taken the wraps off its 'G92' graphics chip, the foundation for the GeForce 8800 GT, as past reports revealed. G92 is a 65nm version of the 'G80' chip that has powered top-of-the-line GeForce 8 series graphics cards to date. Single Slot

This is an absolute Godsend: As a SFF Fan, finding decent, Single slot graphics cards can be a nightmare. Most of the graphic board players assume all gamers/Power Users have huge cases with expansion bays coming out of their ears. I personally like a powerbox I can sling into a backpack for a weekend away.

Even shopping for single slot cards can be hazardous, as 3D Connect, Sapphire, BFG et all normally don't state whether they are single or double slot cards ion the official specs, and any places that sells them use an "For illustration purposes only" image, meaning what you see isn't always what you get.

It's a good month for hardware: with single slot RV670's and G92 duking it out, and the Intel X38 chipset and Core Extreme QX9650 ready to roll, I can feel a Christmas Upgrade coming on - Been waiting for an excuse to grab a shuttle SX38P2 Pro:

..Now if only Creative would release a non-OEM PCIExpress SoundBlaster. Been waiting three years for one of those.....

Exchange rate

So that'll be the the £199 to £259 price range then - the usual $1 = £1 rate rip off?

I await with anticipation.

so can they still make it double slot

by using a bigger, slower QUIETER fan..

What's this?

What's this? Looks like a PCI chocolate bar. Where are all the corrugated bits? Where are the big whirring windmills and pipes.

Bah!

Way too girly to sell. They need to stick on some meccano to make things like this fly off the shelves. Who's going to believe it is more powerful than the last one unless it looks like a construction set explosion. I mean, really.

Amazing Price

A work mate told me of the inpending arrival of these cards, and stated that they would be better than my 8800 GTS. So I was adamant that the 512mb price wouldn't be below £250 let alone £200.

What a shocker!!! And he has ordered it btw... GIT!

p.s. I'm not affiliated in anyway with this store, check around for other prices, they are all pretty much the same.
