I was interested in buying the Pod's bigger brother, but then noticed the dreaded $ - £ conversion & then some. Then I have to pay extra for shipping as well !

This camera has a major problem at 3X optical zoom it produces very grainy images. I tried using different ISO settings but no help. With no zoom images look reasonable but as soon as you zoom in they become grainy.
Note that Archos are launching their 5th generation players. The 605 has been announced already and the 705 will follow. It should be noted that the essential docking accessories for the Generation 4 devices (including the 704) are not compatible with the new 5th gen devices.

Archos 704 about to be superceded! #
Note that Archos are launching their 5th generation players. The 605 has been announced already and the 705 will follow. It should be noted that the essential docking accessories for the Generation 4 devices (including the 704) are not compatible with the new 5th gen devices.
So purchasing a 704 now may not be a good move.
